Mandate
To design a book about designing for print that also acts as a general printing guide.
The print book is a step by step manual that explains the workings of printing. How to design for print, what paper to use, and even how paper is made. All of this information is to be compiled in a designed manual to give a new designer a general knowledge and guidance to printing.
Process
The inner workings of print ready
The direction I took led me to design
and research in ways that visually represented what each concept in
the book speaks about. It also explores physically tangible aspects of the
book so you can interact with what
the book is talking about.
Solution
The result is a wire-o hidden spiral bound booklet that uses colored pages for the pages that speaks about color and the chapter about paper folds is one large folded paper that fits inside the book. It is direct, simple. And easy to follow. It's a functional visual print manual.
“Direct.
Simple.
Easy to
Follow.”
